EXPLORING NEUSCHWANSTEIN CASTLE

This winter, I finally got to explore Neuschwanstein Castle near the town of Füssen in Southwest Bavaria, Germany with my mom. It was our last day after two weeks of traveling before heading back to Madrid. This iconic castle was the inspiration for Disneyland’s Sleeping Beauty’s Castle, one of my favorite places to visit! The castle was commissioned by King Ludwig II in the late 19th century. It is a Romanesque Revival palace with more than 1.3 million people visiting each year.

EXPERIENCING THE GERMAN CHRISTMAS MARKETS

The German Christmas markets (Christkindlmärkte in German) were at the top of my bucket list and I was happy to finally experience them this past Christmas. While I may not have visited some of the biggest or most popular markets, it was still an amazing experience nonetheless. Between all the food, the many (many) mugs of glüwein and all the Christmas shopping, you’re sure to find something that catches your eye.
